Our Repertoire

Our musical director expertly puts together a programme of music to suit most occasions.

Weddings
For weddings the bride may wish to choose from a Gotherington Singers wedding tape or CD. This has proved to be a tremendous success and helps the families select a programme which will give a confident lead to those attending the ceremony. The service also usually includes a choir anthem and a final sung blessing.

Concerts
These may be accompanied by piano, flute, trios, quartets or compatible bands. The music is always varied and interesting from religious: Ava Maria, Panis Angelicus, Look to this day, to Gospel and modern such as Feel Good, Summertime, Mister Sandman and As Long as I Have Music. We regularly update our repertoire with music by present day composers such as Bob Chilcott, Alan Bullard, Andrew Carter, John Rutter, Robert Latham, Jonathan Woncocks Tucapsky, Philip Lane and Alan Simmons.

Celebrations
We put together programmes celebrating National, club or organisational events. A recent "Welsh" evening included one of our welsh speaking members as compere.

Funerals
These are obviously sad occasions for the family but they may be helped by a selection of music specially suited to funerals and by the choir participating in the service, leading the congregational singing and arranging a suitable anthem which provides some peace and composure to relatives and friends.
